Ros Lawrie

Picture
I have completed short courses at different colleges over many years. Colleges include
National Art School, Julian Ashtons, Tom Bass and Royal Art Society of NSW. Also
Bathurst Summer and Winter Schools and McGregor Summer School at Toowoomba. Am
based in Sydney and am also a member of Drummoyne Art Society.

I
love drawing and am too much of a realist when holding a pencil, crayon or
charcol to be an abstract artist, though hope to get there one day. My work now
is moving more into mixed medium useing mainly water-based mediums - apart from
printmaking. Lino cuts and colographs are what I enjoy most in printmaking and
now these are also being combined with collage. Printmaking allows me to become
an abstract artist as I can play around with shapes, patterns and paper far more
than when drawing.
